Legal Question in Education Law in California

contract with a high school

Is there a legal obligation

between a parent and a private

high school if the tuition is not

paid. I'm planning in taking

my son out of the private

school he attends, but the

school is telling me that I must

paid the remaining balance. I

paid in advance for the first six

months and at the end of the

semester I was planning in

taking my son out. Is the

agreement that I signed a legal

debt?

Re: contract with a high school

yes, it is likely a valid contract; however, certain events can lessen or eliminate the requirement to pay. E.g., why are you taking your child out of the school? If he is ill, if the school environment is toxic--these ll can bare on your obigation.
