Legal Question in Education Law in California
My daughters' friend is a foster child with an unfortunate past ( deseased parents, molester adoptive dad etc...). She is currently homeless and on the run from foster care. She is managing well on her own, but I'm concerned that she has not finished school. We have talked and she is very interested in continuing school. She heard of the McKinney- Vento act, providing education for Homeless children without residence information needed, but I think because she is a runaway from the county, any school she signs-up with will report her. Is this true? Does she have any way of getting an education where her guardianship will not be questioned?
