Legal Question in Education Law in California
Graduate Film School Admissions Procedure
My son was denied admissions to a private film graduate school in southern California, due to what I suspect is negligence on their part. He originally applied in 2005 for the 2006/2007 year, but was waitlisted. During that year he applied for and received a Fulbright Scholarship to make a documentary film in France for the 2005/2006 year. He was advised by the school to re-apply for the 2007.2008 school year, which he did. However, I strongly suspect that they did not consider him based on his new materials, but rather looked at the old materials, still on file. I have several reasons to suspect this - one of which is the fact that my family changed residences last year, and the rejection letter (for this year) from the University was sent to our old address. What strategies do I have?

Re: Graduate Film School Admissions Procedure
In my view, there is no negligence simply because the school owes no duty to your son. Perhaps you have tried this already and have not been successful and that is why you are here, but why don't you try to contact the school's admission office and inform them of what you fear may have happened.
