Legal Question in Education Law in California

Hello,

Hope all is well. My question is related to education law in California.

How can this be interpreted? The performance assessment results shall be reported so that they may serve as one basis for a recommendation by the program sponsor that the commission award a teaching credential to a candidate who has successfully met the performance assessment standards. (SB 1209)

In other words, can the assessment results be used with other information or used independent of other information.

Your question is too vague to give you a good answer. It is apparent that the results are important to determine whether the person qualifies for a teaching credential by meeting the performance standards. I assume that the person did not do well on the performance assessment, and there might be negative ramifications with the teaching job currently held or with the sponsoring program. The legislation you quote does not seem to prevent the sponsor from acting in other ways upon the result.
