Legal Question in Education Law in California
In Sep. 2008 I attended Cosmetologists Academy of Beauty and Design in Turlock, CA. Unfortunately the owner could not afford to keep the business running and the school shut down that following December, took the money and ran. I never got to finish my education. I had a loan of $13,000 through Sallie Mae Loans. I would have had to pay the full amount, but fought it and they agreed to take off approximately $9,000 (for the hours I didn't attend). I still feel it is unjust to pay $4,000 for a bad education I did recieve, have the school shut down on me and let the owner get away with it. My question is if I were to fight it and try to have them discard all of the money, would I have a good shot at winning that case?

You might have to sue the school and its owner(s).
