Legal Question in Education Law in California

University Grant

Our daughter was given a University Grant for the University she is attending. The first quarter payment was given to her already. Now the school is saying that it was an error that they gave her the grant and are resending the last three quarter payments. The first quarter grant they said they took it from the school grant. Can they legally take back what they said was ours? They told our daughter that this was extra monies the school was given and now they are taking it back. We are confused...

Sincerely,

Mrs. Boren

Re: University Grant

typically legal contract consideration and/or meretricious "gift offering" cannot be at least unequivocably rescinded once forseeable and actual detrimental reliance on it has been shown by the recipient. thus, you may have very strong rights and claims here in respect to the grant monies at issue. if you would like a free phone consultation to better ascertain your factual and legal situation here, email us directly today with your contact information.
