Legal Question in Elder Law in California
My brother filed for conservatorship over our mom. The court appointed an attorney (PVP) to represent her. The proceedings have been continuing for over sixteen months now and the PVP has missed the last two court sessions and is not responding to phone messages or emails. The next court session (in two months) is the trial and my mom needs the PVP. What can be done? This is in the L.A. Superior Court.

You should contact the probate investigator's office and let them know that your mother's court appointed attorney is not apparently doing anything and has missed multiple hearing dates. Also, check the lawyer's profile sheet on www.calbar.ca.gov and see if anything is going on such as a death or suspension.
