Can a Doctor legally take action to revoke a drivers license from an elder (86) man with a diabetic problem (hypoglycemia)? How much authority do they really have?

Physicians have the right, and they may have a duty, to report persons with uncontrolled hypoglycemia to the DMV, which can then take action to suspend or revoke a driver's license or to request additional information from the licensee. Only DMV may revoke a license. Uncontrolled hypoglycemia, of course, presents a safety hazard; and maybe Grandpa shouldn't be driving.
