Legal Question in Elder Law in California
Estate Recovery
I want to know if Estate Recovery is only applied to those who recieve Medicaid Long Term institutional care, or is there Medical and Medicare Estate recoveries as well, for things like prescriptions, hospital care etc. Does this make sense?

Re: Estate Recovery
Your question makes sense. Medi-Cal can, potentially, recover for any and all expenses during the individual's lifetime. Expect them to become only more aggressive in this regard. If the Medi-Cal recipient owns their own home then they need to protect it while they are alive. Once they die it is too late to do anything to shield it from estate recovery.
