Re: profit vs non profit
Let me attempt to explain this in a couple of sentences. A non-profit organizationn pays it's employess a fair wage, but they do not operate with the purpose of maxamizing profit, which is that amount left over after paying the expenses. They are exempt from paying taxes and have to jump through a few hoops to maintain their exempt status. Contrast that with corporations that are in business to maximize profit. They are taxed, but unless they make profit, their shareholders will get upset. Does that make sense?
