Legal Question in Elder Law in California
Research/Find Missing Bank Certificates
Is it possible to trace bank certificates/CD notes?
My Grandfather had 4 certificates (2 of them maximum yield) After he pasted away a family member & caregiver transfered to another account. We recently found out about this after Grandmother fell(?) and needed monies for her continuing care. As we searched we found there had been more than financial abuse, there has been physcial & emotional also! She is now safe and around loving family, on the road to recovery as this has been a trauma for her. DPS was called, but by the ones who TOOK from her, trying to get the heat off them, only to prolong the process and i fear every day for Grandmothers life. We discovered a pattern from a Aunt who had died a couple yrs ago (we have fearful letter from her from facility she was in). As for the Bank notes, nothing appeared under Grandpa's name, but when his S.S. # was run, UP POPS accounts under someone eles name!
What can be done about this? Bank tells us 2 days later it was an error, but they entered his number 3-4 times! Is the bank responsible for error?
Thank you for helping

Re: Research/Find Missing Bank Certificates
See an elder law attorney--there may be enough to prove an elder abuse case & get the money back plus penalties, if they (the caregivers) still have it. You should also speak with the police and file a report.

I would like to talk to you about this matter. I may not be able to help you but I might be able to point you in the right direction. My telephone number is (818) 243-9676. My email is [email protected].
It sounds to me like you have a major perpatrator here. I can at least encourage you to report it to the police. Maybe I can do more for you.
