Re: agency law
Under the talent agencies act, any person who "procures employment" for an artist is required to be licensed as a talent agent.
AN unlicensed person (i.e., a manager) who procures employment in violation of this provision, risks having his/her agreement with the client VOIDED at the client's election, and in some cases, DISGORGEMENT of commissions already paid to the manager.
It would be inappropriate under any circumstance to take multiple commissions on the same job.
