Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California
I would like to buy DVD rights of a number of U.S. feature movies and animations for marketing in a foreign country. Since we need to do some adjustments on the purchased films such as subtitling, dubbing and perhaps some censorships, I was wondering who I needed to approach? Do I need to negotiate with the studio/the production company directly or better to talk to a major distributor?
Thanks

I suggest starting with the entity identified as owner on the DVD. It really depends because studios own some product and some is licensed.
