Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California

contracts and waivers

What type of contracts and waivers should I use to protect myself when opening a pole dancing studio? I dont want anyone to fall and try to sue me, as they will be dancing and excercising, using new muscles they didnt know they had?

You'll need to cover several issues. Our CA member attorney can handle this for you. I don't think there is an online form specific to your needs.

Re: contracts and waivers

First off, you'll need INSURANCE.

Second you'll want to have a good release drafted for your specific situation, and outlining the kinds of risks associated with this kind of exercise/dance/equipment, etc.

This is probably NOT a matter of reinventing the wheel. You might be able to get a sample or two from other pole-dance instructors in your area, then have an attorney look it over.

Don't try to do-it-yourself.. Pay an attorney to make sure your bases are covered.

Third, You'll probably want to post lots of safety instructions, warning signs, etc.
