Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California
In the entertainment industry, specifically film, if a production company wants to simultaneously distribute its films theatrically, DVD, online streaming, and VOD through a cable provider, are they at the mercy of the distributor in accepting that type of model or are distributors more flexible in the servicing the PC by accepting their model and structuring a plan that suits their needs. Who holds more power/control in the partnership. Any information would be appreciated.

Every deal is different, and the relative bargaining power of the parties varies. The notion of a coordinated release in all media is one that is growing in popularity, so you probably CAN find distributors willing to work this way...
Beware, though, of distributors who don't commit to such an approach in writing.
You'll want an experienced entertainment lawyer to help you negotiate these complex agreements.
