1. Learn to spell "investor."
2. Then, hit up your Mom for a loan.

So do 1000 other filmmakers. The successful ones generally hire a lawyer to walk them through the process of seeking investors.
You'll need to comply with the Federal Securities Laws, as well as the Blue Sky laws in every state where potential investors are located, and there are MANY restrictions on how you approach them, how many potential investors you can approach, etc.
This is NOT a do-it-yourself project. Expect to pay 5 figures for help in preparing your investment prospectus.
