Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California
does the law require people to sign a release in order to be put on television. for example if you were caught on the tv show cheaters and did not want your footage to be shown on national tv is the show required to get a signed release from you or can they just air it without your consent.

Well newsworthy events if not intruding into private areas where there is an expectation of privacy there does not need to be any consent. Cheaters is not news and people cannot use your image in a commercial manner without your consent unless it was an area subject to a licensing agreement such as the NFL, NBA, etc.
