If I want to make a musical out of a novel that was adapted into a Broadway play, and later made into a film, what do I have to do?

Make deals to buy the rights from the owners of the novel, the play, and the film. This may be one company or many people, and may be complicated to determine. Don't try to make these deals without an experienced attorney. Be aware that rights to something that has been popular and successful enough to be adapted into so many versions will likely be expensive.
