Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California

Hi, I have a question with regards to the legality of filming stock footage. I wanted to film close ups of some of the animals at the zoo and use them in a film I'm making about the emotions of animals (as part of a montage). Is it legal for me to use footage I filmed at the zoo? This would be of such things as a tigers face or a spider crawling. Only the animal would be shown with no reference to the zoo or background location of it etc. Can I do this?

Depends on the zoo's policies. You may need a permit for the shoot. Contact the zoo to find out.
