redicule of a public figure

as a writer, can I write a story using public figures like the president and vice pres., describe them as clones(for example gwb-clone #5) it's a sci-fi story and the story shows them as fools.

One of the great things about the United States was that it was founded by people who believe citizens have a right to comment on their government and its leaders. The first amendment gives us the right to speak freely about government actions.

As to commenting on specific people, there is a right to privacy that courts recognize, but it does not apply to public officials in the public performance of their duties. If someone has sought the public spotlight, they have waived a great deal of their privacy.

Over the years, all of our presidents have been lampooned in one way or another and no one has ever been prosecuted for it. There is no reason to think you would be the first.
