Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California

No release

I went to an audition for a website, (no nudity) and that was it I was told that the auditions weren't used on the websites and that they were simply that. Turns out that they used the audition on the website, my name is all over the internet and I was never paid, asked if it was ok, nor did I ever sign a release to allow them to broadcast this recording. Could you please advise me? The owner of the company is a DA in New York, and gave me all this legal jargin about public places, etc. Fact is that it was filmed in a hotel room.

Re: No release

This would amount to illegal content and the unauthorized use of your name and likeness. It would be easy to get removed. Whether you are entitled to compensation is a matter of determining the damages that you incurred from having these pictures up. Let me know if you want to move forward with this. I would need additional information.

Re: No release

A hotel room is not a public place. If you would like me to represent you in this, I will need additional information, including whetehr you would like to take the images down off the web, or seek compensation for them. Feel free to contact me.
