Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California
Submitting Screenplay
Hello,
My situation:
I have recently completed a screenplay and sent out queries to various production cos. Ive received interest, however they require an 'Entertainment Rep' to submit for liability purposes.
My question:
How much can I expect to pay an attorney for the services? And furthermore, how would I verify an attorneys credentials?
Thanks.

What you need is an agent, you can get a list of.agents through WGAw (wga.org).
Re: Submitting Screenplay
Various attorneys charge various rates, usually on an hourly basis. My rate is $200 an hour with a retainer up front, and rates may go as high as $600 or more for some attorneys. You might check their experience in your area of law, and understanding of the field of entertainment law and intellectual property, as well as that attorney's negotiating experience. You may contact my office if I may be of assistance.
