Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California

I am considering taking a $1500 course on http://www.sportsmanagementworldwide.com/ to learn how to become an agent. I'm not a lawyer but I have a strong background in sales and management and I'm interested in making a career change while I'm still in my mid 20's. Would taking a course like what they offer and latching on to a company like this be a good option?

Save your $1500. Find established agents and take them to lunch. Offer to work as an assistant / in the mailroom of an established agency.
