Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California
TV Releases
I was at a bar when a popular TV show was filming. I was caught on camera, and a man asked me to sign a release. I refused to sign the release, and yet I was showed on the TV and my face was not blurred out. Are they allowed to do that?

Re: TV Releases
Maybe.
It's worth a cease and desist letter to the producers. But, they may produce evidence that there were signs up indicating that continued presence at the location was consent to be filmed, etc.
Also, if you're merely in the background, and only for a moment or two, you may not have any luck with this. You were in a public place. The big question is whether you had any "expectation of privacy"
