Legal Question in Family Law in California
1. My ex-fiance is in law enforcement and after cohabitating for 18 months, he "broke up" by filing a DV R/O (false charges of psychological harm) and put me on the street, penniless with nothing more than a suitcase (after using up my last thousands of dollars). I was shocked, horrified and heartbroken.
Now, he is going to dispose of my possessions (things I had worked long and hard to obtain) as "abandoned" even though he put me on the streets with nothing, AND his attorney has told me that I would not be allowed on the property.
His attorney is very unethical and has been so rude that he nearly spit on me when he was "in my face" threatening jail time and attorney's fees in the court parking lot.
Where do I start and how do I even approach that kind of attorney in protection of my things until I can recover them?
2. I am so battered but can't find any help in this "backwards" chain of events. Are there any pro-bono attorneys out there that can help until I can pay?

You should contact a local shelter for temporary housing. In the DVRO you should address the issues of your belongings and where they should go. You should definatly look for a place to store the belongings. Usually they will give you a limited amount of time to gather your belongings before they will be deemed abandoned. If you have no legal right to the house, then you have no right to store your belongings there.
or self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.
As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
