Legal Question in Family Law in California
401k in Divorce
My divorce was final a week ago. In the judgement I get 1/2 of my husbands 401k. He sent the certified copy of the judgement to his 401k and they said he needed to have a QDRO form done, that is listed in the judgement. Rather than go through all of that we both agree if there is a way we can just sign a paper and he will give me money from a liquid CD he has that way we dont have to be taxed etc. What can we do to go about doing this without going back to court? I did my own divorce so there was no attorneys involved we can't afford legal fees.

Re: 401k in Divorce
Recently what I did is transferred one-half of the wife's 401k into a 401k created by the husband.
