Legal Question in Family Law in California

In 2009 I married a man a few months after getting pregnant. He promised to start working so he could help support us a family. After I had our kid he refused to get a job forcing us to have to file for california state cash assistance as well as food assistance. This man not only refused To get a job but he also started to be abusive towards me in front of our newborn. Needless to say I kicked him out( we were living with my parents) and last year i went thru the divorce and it was recently finalized.I was granted full custody both legal and physical. He was granted supervised visits twice a month per a DV restraining order that was placed on him due to him being abusive. At our court date he claimed he was unemployed and could Not pay any child support. Then I started receiving 50 checks from him out of no where for the 2 months prior to our next court Date. At our next court date he claimed he was still unemployed and could Not pay any amount for child support due to him still being supposedly unemployed. Those were the only 2 payments I ever received from him. Now it has Been brought to my attention that he had lied about being unemployed and that really he has been working for over a year plus as a plumber in fact his new girlfriend at that time( they're now married) owns the compAny and the business is in her name so the courts wouldn't be able to know about it. I would like to know how do I go about filing for child support. This man has had 4 other children with several different woman and he has never paid any support for any of them. I'm a single parent who is thankful I have my parents to help in support or I don't know what I would do. I myself have been out on disability due to being hit by a car while pedestrian and breaking my leg in several different places. I have gone through 2 surgeries so far to correct it. How and who do I contact about his employment so I can try to get child support since he is working? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much and god bless you!!!

The resource that is available to you is the California Department of Child Support Services office in the county where you live. However paternity will need to be established and the priority for services is child support recovery for children who are receiving public assistance benefits.

You should also consult with a family law attorney to determine what your options are for dealing with the fact that your child's father has lied to the court as well as you about his resources. These are serious charges and should not be made lightly, hence your need to consult with an experienced family law attorney.
