Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am 15 and in my mothers custody. I nolonger wish to be in this situation, I would rather live with my dad. Isn't there an age were you can choose who you want to live with?

Yes, 18. Before that, your parents choose for you, and if they cannot agree, then the court decides. Since you are over 14, the court can but is not required to hear your testimony as to where you want to live, but that is only one factor in the court's decision. Depending on how close the other factors are, your preference may or may not tip the scales, but in any case it is only one factor underconsideration if the court must decide.

18. Once you're an adult, you can live where you want, assuming that you can afford it.
