Legal Question in Family Law in California

$85,000. owed in back child support

My ex husband owes $85,000.00 in back child support. His first wife was on AFDC, so this is owed to the county. most of the $85,000. is in interest alone, and the bill is 7 years overdue. My question is how come nobody has done anything to collect this past due bill? The bills come to my address, where he has nevered lived and we have been seperated for three years. Thank you.

It is possible someone has tried to collect. After all, you are getting the bills.
