Legal Question in Family Law in California
I have 50/50 physical/financial custody of my 12 year old son. He would like to skip days at his Dad's house every once in awhile. His Father will not allow this. Is there a way for him to be able to request a change in the custody restrictions to allow him more frredom of choice without having to pay a 4,000 retainer and going to court? San Joaquin co.
Thank you for you time

Your son cannot request the change himself. You have to file it to request the change.

As with pretty much every two-sided issue that there is a law about, you can either reach an agreement with the other side or go to court. You can avoid the retainer by filing in pro per, but you can't avoid court if you can't agree and you still want to change things.
