Family law judgments are enforceable in the same manner as any other judgments. Additionally, orders made in family law are enforceable by way of contempt proceedings, but you should be advised that contempt proceedings are subject to a statute of limitations. "If the contempt alleged is the faliure to pay child, family, or spousal support, the period of limitations for commencing a contempt action is three year from the date that the payment was due." (Code of Civ. Proc., sect. 1218.5 subd. (b).) All other orders made under the family code are subject to a two year limitations period.

Unlike standard civil money judgments, family law judgments are enforceable until they are satisfied, and do not have to be extended.
