im 37weeks pregnant and my boyfriend just left me, i tried talking to him about setting up payments to me for child support instead of going to court, he said no, because he is going to get 50% custody of her. he has a decent job, his own place, and he dont do drugs. can he get 50% custody?

It is possible. However, his home, and work will not guarantee him receiving 50% custody. The court will look at the relationship of the parent with the child. You have an advantage in that you can choose to breast feed your new born. Father cannot breast feed the child. Also I would recommend that you do not further attempt to get him to agree to pay child support. He probably wants 50% time with the child to reduce his child support payments. You could also question his ability to care for a baby. Retaining an attorney to represent you will give you the best opportunity to obtain the result you want.
