as an 18 year old still attending high school in California, do my parents still have control or authority over me?

The simple answer, is in CA a custody order terminates when the child reaches age 18, (Family code 3022), dies or becomes emancipated (Family Code 7050(b)).

They have no legal control or authority over you. They also have no obligation to support you or provide you a home, unless there is a court order for child support. So unless you are independently wealthy or have a great after school job, or are just dying to see what broke and homeless is like, they have a great deal of actual control over you.
