Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have a 10 year old boy that refuses to go to his father's home for the weekend visit. Their dad has 2 weekends per month. My son is involved in extracirricular activities that his dad makes him miss when he goes there. My son is supposed to go this coming weekend and is telling me he is not going and he will call his dad and tell him. I have told him that it is very important to visit his dad and his kids, but he doesn't want to go as often. He says he will go, he just doesn't want to go all the time that the court order says. My 14 year old daughter has not been to her father's at all in the last 2 months. I was told that I cannot physically force my son to go. Is this true?
