Legal Question in Family Law in California

14 year old dose not want to see her mother anymore

My 14 year old daughter lives with me but I share legal custody with my ex. wife. She hasn't seen her mother in almost two years. she does not want to talk to her or see her anymore. I would like to know if thier is anything we can do? Someone told us she could go to court and get enancipitated from her mom. Can this be done?

Emancipation is freedom from any parental control, which would mean yours also. Since she lives with you she is not self supporting. You should fild a motion with the court to obtain an order for no visitation. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
