Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am a 16 year old girl who is currently living with my mom who has 100% custody. My dad has not paid child support and is forcing me to see a therapist due to it being court ordered. I want him to leave me alone and I have come to the fact that I need to emancipate myself. How do I go about this, what forms, and do I need an attourney to help me? My mom is completely fine with this and we have agreed that I can help pay for half the rent so I can still live with her and my brother. Thank you for your help!

1 Answer from Attorneys

Here is the pamphlet from California court that you must read before making that decision. You can do it yourself and do not have to have an attorney representation. The pamphlet is fairly self-explanatory and will explain which form to fill and what legal hurdle you may have to jump.
