Legal Question in Family Law in California

I was in a 17 year marriage and was divorced in 2005, I have been ordered to pay spousal support till the day my ex-wife dies your re-marries. I have since re-married and lost my job in October 2011; I filed change of circumstance papers in court that week, I"m receiving employment and have the court date on Jan. 17. My question is can the court order my present wife to pay the spousal support, or continue it up when I am working again? (my ex-wife receives 255.00 monthly, from the original order of 355.00, because of an overpayment on my behalf on child support that has since been terminated)

Your current wife has no obligation to expose her income for your spousal support obligation to your ex wife. Support is based on your income. If you are exercising all reasonable efforts to be re-employed, the court will probably recalculate your ongoing support based on your current income.
