Legal Question in Family Law in California
My 17 year old nece came to live with me a month ago. Her parents wanted her to live with me and to go to school in my area. They set her up at the area highschool, had her added to my phone plan, moved all her belongings here, and have had me take care of her like one of my own. They now may want her to go back home but she doesn't want to go. Does she have a choice?

A 17 year old is considered a minor in the eyes of the law. Until the child is emancipated or you are awarded guardianship of the minor the child needs to follow the rules of the parents.
