Legal Question in Family Law in California

My ex took my 12 year old son out of school in November without notifying me. Last week, she dropped of my son at my house and said she could no longer control him. Do I now have legal physical custody and can I now put him back in school even though she doesn't want me to?

Until the court order is changed you have what you have, but, in any case, the child should be in school.

You need court orders designating your custodial status to properly enroll him in school and ensure the mother will not change her mind and take the child again.
