Legal Question in Family Law in California

My 18 year old son was told by an 18 year old girl , who he had dated several months ago that she was pregnant. About 4 months now. He does not have a job and lives at home currently. We do not belive that if the girl is pregnant that it is our son's. But if it is, because he has not job are the parents financialy responsible?

Getting a woman pregnant is not a tort so the parents have no liability. Once the child is 18 , his parents also have no liability. Once the child is born, you should insist upon a DNA test so that he can accept his responsibility if he has any. If she was under 18 when they had any act of intercourse, even though consensual, he could be charged with statutory rape. he needs counseling as to the problems of trying to have fun without taking care not to injury others, or himself.
