Legal Question in Family Law in California

18 year old student custody issue

My 18 year old son will be a senior in high school. He has left his dad's home (who has physical custody of him) He was actually kicked out. He is now living with me, the mother. Do I need to go back to court to modify custody. I believe california law will require mediation which I feel is not necessary. I want to make sure that there are no legal complications with my son shifting residence.

If your son is eighteen the court has no jursidiction over the his custody. He is an adult. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
