17 years later...child support

An ex-girl friend alleges I am the father of her 17 year old daughter. The name of the father is listed as ''unknown'' on the childs birth certificate. The child has been raised by another man since her birth. After 17 years can the mother sue me for child support?

Yes she can sue you for child support, however, child support would run only to age 18 or out of high school. She cannot get back support. There are defenses, even if you are the bio dad. Contact an attorney if she brings an action. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
