Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am 20 years old. My mom has a personality disorder and because of this I have not spoken with her in two years. When I originally left the house at 18, I took only the things that were neccessary for living. A lot of my momentos and other things are still at my moms house.

I have emailed her requesting for a time that I can come and get my things. She said yes, but she will not agree to allowing me to get my things while she is away from the house. Because of her past abuse and the fact that we have not talked in two years, I do not feel comfortable getting my things while she is present. What are my legal rights? What are my next steps?

You have no legal right to enter your mother's house without her being there. The two of you should agree on a friend or family member to be present when you retreive you possessions.
