Legal Question in Family Law in California
16 y.o. Daughter wants to move out of state and live with me.
My 16 year old daughter would like to move out of state and live with me. My ex-husband and I have joint custody of our three children, one, the oldest has already moved out and lives on his own. My 17 yo son lives with me and now my 16 yo daughter would like to live with me during the school year and visit her father during the summer (currently she lives with her father during the school year and visits me during the summer and Christmas). She has asked her father about this for the past two years and he refuses to even consider it. So my question is how should I proceed? Also how much will my daughters stated living preferrence be considered?

Simple to do. You need to file a request with the state court having jurisdiction over the children to change the child custody arrangement. They will consider "changed circumstances" and at your daughter's age, should give great weight to her desires. Good luck.
