Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have a 11 y.o. daughter I have been paying child support for. I never married her mother and I have a child support order through the DA's office. We have never been to court for a custody hearing and now the mother wants to move out of state. My daughter does not want to go and wants to stay with me. Since there has never been a custody order, can my ex-girlfriend move out of state with her without my permission? Do I have just as much right to my daughter as her mother? I have to act quick as her mother plans to move in 3 weeks.

You should get an attorney and file an Ex Parte emergency hearing for custody and to have the court prevent the move. Good luck.
