Legal Question in Family Law in California
we have a 17 yr old female pregnant by a 23 yr old male (16 at time of conception)in the state of Ca. .the girl is afraid to file for public assistance of any kind, or child support matters because she is afraid the father will be in trouble. although they are not staying together, they want to co-parent.Can you tell me the laws that will affect them?Thank you in advance

He could be charged with a unlawful intercourse, assuming that she continues to say that it was consensual. This is a criminal law question not a family law question.
