Legal Question in Family Law in California

My 16 yr old son lives with his father at the moment and part of the custody order was that my son visit with my mother once a week. As a punishment for bad grades my son's father is not allowing these visits and has threatened to kick him out if he goes and sees her. I have contacted the Sherrif's department to enforce the court order previously but at this point I don't know how to proceed. My son is very close to my parents and is upset that he not being allowed to see them. I am currently out of state and my that connection to me is important to both me and son. What can I do?

Your remedy is an OSC re: contempt. Unfortunately that is hard for you since you live out of state now. Your mother probably has a right to enforce the order if she wants to show up to pick your son up with the sherriff in tow. I'm not sure what else you can do.
