Legal Question in Family Law in California
An Abused Childs Possesions Being Brotected
I am 17 years old. I was taken out of my mothers home by Cps, and placed in my fathers home. My mother is refusing to give up my possesions like my bed, clothing, and dresser. Is there any laws stating I have the right to have my moved with me to my fathers home. Thank you

Is there a dependency court action? If there is then there is a social worker assigned to your case. Ask the social worker for help. The juvenile court maybe able to order her to give you the property.
Since you stated that you were placed in you father's home there must be a divorce, or dissoultion of marriage case some where. Most judges will order her to turn over clothing and some other such items. However, you need to consider the value of the property being demanded and the cost of going to court to get an othat she give you the property.

No. This items really are your mothers since she bought them. Maybe you can have your father go get the clothes and other personal effects. Now, if there are things that you bought, certainly, you can get those. You would have to file a complaint against her for conversion of your property in small claims court. But, since you are a minor, you can't do it yourself. Your dad would have to help you. You can obtain small claims information and forms at the local courthouse. Good luck and thanks for inquiring.
