Legal Question in Family Law in California

Access to my home

My wife filed for divorce, changed locks, and installed a security system on our home. I can change the locks to gain access to the home, but cannot shut off security system. She is refusing to give me the codes, keys, and access to my home. What can be done to get access to my home quickly?

Re: Access to my home

If your name is on the title for this house and there hasn't already been a hearing on this issue, then you could request a court order for exclusive possession of the house through a motion. But this takes time.

To do it a bit faster, you would go through an ex parte application.

You may need to obtain a court order if continued negotiations fail.
