Legal Question in Family Law in California

Address information for non-custodial parent

Is it unlawful for a non-custodial parent to disclose his address? We have a case with the Department of Child Support Services and although they have a verifiable address on file for him, they can't disclose it to me, the custodial parent. I've asked the NCP many times for an address but he refuses to provide one, not even for our teenager who has not heard from him for a while. By the way, I've had plenty of e-mail contact with him recently regarding his non-payment of support, address, etc.

Re: Address information for non-custodial parent

Generally the address of the non custodial parent would be required if there was visitation. You could go to court and request that he be required to provide the address. This would be rather expensive. As an alternative ask for an address at which you teen can send mail to him.
